Automatic Battery Charger Model# 71222 This is listed as a "fully automatic" car battery charger, which means that if you select a charge amperage it's supposed to automatically maintain that charge amperage.However, "fully automatic" does NOT mean this is a Battery Maintainer. This does NOT have Float-Mode Monitoring. You cannot just connect this to your car battery and forget it because if you do, pretty soon this will completely destroy your battery. If you do not disconnect this charger after your battery is fully-charged, it will overcharge your car battery which will reduce it's capacity and eventually ruin it permanently. You need to read the manual carefully to figure this out and you need to connect a separate battery meter to determine if the battery is fully charged. You can safely ignore the meter on the front because it's useless. With a fully dead battery, the meter will show as fully charged. This is O.K. for a brute-force charging but the phrase "fully automatic"... As long as you read the instructions and make sure you remove the charger when the light is on and shows the battery fully charged. The good thing about this charger is you can use it for a motorcycle, car battery, or use the 50 amp setting to start the car right away.
