5.0 out of 5 stars wow...this thing is loud, October 23, 2009
I bought this device to haul in a trailer for critical mass (this big crazy bike ride that occurs monthly). I had been experimenting with boomboxes and other battery powered speakers but I wasn't satisfied with the volume I was getting from those devices and the bass response wasn't great. I just got this PA and I haven't tested it for battery longevity or anything yet, but I did plug in my iPod and crank it up and WOW, this thing is seriously loud. Much more boom than any boomboxes I've played with and the bass response is really surprising. It takes a little balance between volume on your device (iPod, etc.) and the volume on the built in mixer, but you can get some very nice, clean sound that is VERY loud with nice deep bass. Haven't played with the mic yet. The cabinet feels pretty solid, but will post a follow up review after the ride next week to let you know how it handles. It's VERY heavy and that'll be a challenge for the bike (I'm not looking forward to hills). The... Read more

This is a fantastic system. Yes, it is an economy model, but for the price, it is amazingly loud and does a great job. I really don't understand all the negative reviews. I was almost scared off of buying this, but I'm so glad I bought it! Besides, with Amazon's A-Z guarantee, there is nothing to worry about.

The iPod dock has great sound quality and worked with my iPhone 4 (even charges it). The inputs work well. You can tell that the microphone audio quality is not too good, but it's a nice accessory with a decent range.

The only issues I've run in to are common to ALL PA systems. It's always a challenge to connect a computer cable to a 1/4" input (without a direct box, you will pick up a soft hum). That's why it's nice to have the iPod dock. There are ALWAYS plenty of issues with wireless microphones (different frequencies, different settings, surrounding signals all can interfere and give you trouble).

Anyway, I'm completely pleased with this... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Loud, but flimsy, July 25, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)

For what it is worth...you can not go wrong with this product. Here are the pros and cons

Pros -
-Very Loud for outdoors
-Microphone included works great near the product
-Easy to pull along

Cons
-Battery Dies in less than 4 hours on full blast and constant use without being plugged in. (Yes i know that is what I should expect but I was hoping for longer)
-The material used on the bottom is not sturdy at all. Broke after my first day. I ended up mounting my own bottom for it to stand

Overall a good product but if you are going for something professional...I would spend the money on something better. Personal use...Great!
