In this case it's actually misleading, implying that this is a highly versatile charger, which it isn't. I instead turned to an owner's manual that I found online, which is generic and likewise describes several functions (including adjustable current settings) not found on this unit, which is specifically designed for charging your car's starting/accessories battery, or for standard lead-acid 6 or 12 volt deep-cycle batteries. The unit seems to be fairly solidly built (in Mexico), a rather old-fashioned design based on a heavy 60-Hz transformer rather than a switching power supply. It's nevertheless microprocessor-controlled, and does a decent job of charging up your car battery without overcharge. However, it's not recommended for anything smaller than 40 Ah, which would exclude most motorcycle and lawn tractor batteries as well as UPS batteries. The only available settings...
