The intelligent, portable C7 Battery Charger and Maintainer from Bosch provides battery charging that is quick, easy and safe. The core of the C7 is its state-of-the-art charging technology and self-monitoring functions which ensure high quality charging for long battery life. Simply plug in the AC power cord, integrated at one end of the charger, to a standard 110-volt household outlet. Then attach the two insulated charger clamps integrated into the opposite end to the appropriate battery posts of the lead-acid battery being charged or maintained. For extra convenience the charger mounting bracket allows you to hang the charger upright in a permanent spot possible between the battery and an AC power source.
Maintenance/Trickle Charging Mode
With the integrated trickle charge function, batteries can be monitored and reliably kept at a high charge level when not in use. Unlike other chargers which can damage batteries due to overcharging, the Bosch C7 Battery Charger and Maintainer can be left connected to the battery and will switch automatically to the maintenance/trickle charging mode when the battery is fully charged - only switching to a higher charge rate once the battery level drops below a specified charge level.
One-Button Smart Charging
Safety is an important concern around any power source. One button operation, built-in pulse and trickle charge function, and a comprehensive safety concept make the Bosch C7 very easy and safe to use. If an abnormal situation occurs, the charger switches automatically to standby mode to protect the battery from damage.
Micro Computer Controlled
The C7 Battery Charger and Maintainer is controlled by an internal MCU (microcomputer unit). This automated control provides for both constant voltage monitoring and intelligent charging, which the Bosch C7 uses to detect the precise level of charge in your batteries when connected. It's through this constant flow of data that the C7 is able to maintain connected batteries within the precise levels that they need to be and automatically switch from a charge mode to a maintain mode, avoiding over charging.
Give Your Batteries a Boost
Batteries exhausted by leaving the car's headlights on overnight for example, can be revived with the Refresh or Boost function available on the C7. Re-charging is possible provided that the sulphation (crystal formation) process has not gone too far.
Power Backup Feature
With the Power Backup feature, the C7 ensures that all the vehicle's electronic systems are supplied with enough power to ensure that the settings are maintained when changing the battery (in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications).

I only give it 2 stars because I think the price is too high for what you get in comparison to other brands. This charger will do everything they say it will and do it well but please see my followup at the end of this review...it's a major negative!! I have other Bosch equipment and have always been satisfied with their quality. However, why pay over $100 for this when you can buy a "Battery Tender" brand that will do all this for a fraction of that price and is much simpler to operate? The battery clamps do not come attached and the connectors that do come attached are too small to go over the battery posts on most batteries. The Battery Tender (for a lot less money) gives you the choice of clamps or connectors (that are large enough to fit the battery posts) simply by unplugging the ones you don't want and then plugging in what you do want. Yes, this has 6 modes to operate and if you have a need for the other modes such as recharging a severely discharged battery or charging a 24... But do you really need all of this for the price?I personally don't - but I have friends who would really get their money's worth out of this machine. If you have battery issues, or live with someone who can't seem to remember to turn out their lights then this thing will save a lot of time and headaches. If your battery only ever goes dead because it's dead for real then a cheaper charger to get you to a battery store will probably do the trick. Only you know which works in your situation.
