Based on a review of 5 battery maintainers in Wing World magazine, I purchased a Yuasa 1.5 amp battery maintainer. I have a 2001 Honda GL1800 Goldwing with a battery that is at least 2 years old. I have an Argus Battery Bug that showed the battery was at 48% of life, and that the voltage would fall to 12.2 volts over the course of a day.

I put the Yuasa on each night for a week, basically until several days past with no further improvements, and then reset the battery bug. I then rode the bike to work for a week and found that the battery was holding 12.5 volts and was at 77% on the battery bug.

I then discovered another review in Wing World magazine on the Pulsetech Xtreme Charge, which indicated that it brought batteries to a higher state of charge than other battery maintainers. I decided to give it a try.

This is definitely a very good purchase if you own any lead acid batteries. The short story is that this works well, I own 2 of them, I would recommend them to others and am sure it would be a great gift or surprise for anyone who has lead acid batteries and does not like having to buy new ones (sorry battery manufacturers)

The long story is that I like most of you have several lead acid batteries like the ones in your car, truck, motorcycle, garden tractor or?. I was a little skeptical initially about the ability of a device to restore an old or weak battery. I did much research into the desulphation of batteries to restore them and was faced with the dilemma of replacing one of my batteries.

So it was a choice of 70 dollars for this Xtreme Pulse Tech Battery Maintainer Charger or 50-100 for a new battery.

I chose this Xtreme Pulse Tech Battery Maintainer Charger, after it arrived I pulled it out of the package, connected it and waited a few days. A... Read more

Plug and play simple to use, came with quick disconnect and alligator clamps. The unit conditions and charges, nice size, no buttons, plug it in and let the computer do the rest, perfect. Absolutely no fuss!
