5.0 out of 5 stars Battery recall by Worx, June 25, 2011

I was about to post my own gripe when I called Worx customer service. There is an automated option for batteries that directs you to worxbattery.com.

Punch in the serial number of your battery and you will likely qualify for a free battery replacement on their dime.

I only give this a 5 stars because they are willing to rectify the problem at no charge. If I end up getting a bad battery and Worx does not do the right thing I'll change this to a 1 star.

Edit: The replacement battery I received has been working fine for 1 1/2 seasons of actual use. The battery inside is green-colored instead of purple. You can see the color by peeking through the air vents on the battery. It took about 2 weeks for the replacement battery to come in and it came with a free 6-pack of spools. Glad my post has helped people save some money.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Update on Worx Trimmer, August 10, 2010

This review is from: WORX WA3512.1 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Tool Battery (Lawn & Patio)
Unbelievable in that I have three Worx GT WA3512 (18-v lithium ion) batteries, the orignal that came with the trimmer and two spares. Currently, only one is working, as the other two are defective - no longer taking a charge. Purchased unit in April 2010. I contacted Worx GT, given the 30-day return period had elapsed. While Worx GT is willing to replace the first battery, it has been over 30 days and I have not received the replacement battery. Worked my lawn this morning and the original battery is no longer accepting a charge - so I am down to one battery pending Worx replacing battery number two. Hopefully, I will limp through the summer with this equipment, but will replace with a Sears Craftsman of Black and Decker for next year. We have used a Black and Decker trimmer for almost 5 years - never, never had a problem of this kind in maintaining a charge. Despite it shortened battery life, the Black and Decker Unit runs circles around the Worx GT's battery life. Worx GT... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars No battery life, August 4, 2010

Those that said the battery had no life were correct, five 15 minute uses and it was totally dead, will NOT recharge even though the green light on the charging station says it has. USELESS PRODUCT! $120 for a little more than an hours work. From the research I have done it appears you should NOT leave the battery in the charging station once the green light goes on, it will destroy the battery. Once it recharges put it back in the trimmer and leave it there until recharging again. This may no save your battery but at least it will last longer than an hour.
